In Osaka's Namba, various illumination events are held every year, attracting a large number of visitors. In this article, we will introduce recommended illumination spots in the Namba area.
The Namba Hikari Tabi is an illumination event in Namba that is celebrating its 12th edition this year. Approximately one million lights illuminate the Namba area. Here, we will introduce some of the representative spots, all of which can be enjoyed for free, so be sure to visit them.
Namba Parks, famous for its 'Light Waterfall,' where 18 meters of light particles sparkle like splashing water, and the 'Glistening Meadow,' where white and gold lights transform into a meadow-like scene, is celebrating its 12th edition of the 'Namba Hikari Tabi' illumination event this year. You can enjoy numerous illuminations that create a fantastical world.
This year, in conjunction with the renewal of Parks Garden, illumination spots have been refreshed. The second-floor light entrance symbol and the fifth-floor murmuring forest have been reborn.
On the eighth-floor circular theater plaza, the experiential illumination 'Harmony of Light' is making a return. Images projected at your feet react to people walking in the area. The production changes in response to the flowing music and the changing colors of the sparkling meadow, casting brilliance throughout the entire area.
On the second-floor Canyon Street, a symbol tree called 'Shining Tree ~by loss flower~,' utilizing rose flowers, conveys the importance and beauty of nature. After Christmas, it transforms into a Welcome Arch to greet visitors.
Furthermore, starting from 2023, Parks Garden has been renewed. Illuminations have been added to the third-floor wood deck and the fifth-floor 'Murmuring Forest,' transforming them into new photo spots.
Introduced as a new illumination spot is 'Namba Parks South,' born in July 2023. Featuring an arch symbolizing the 'Entrance of the South' and trees sparkling in gold, around 450,000 lights welcome visitors.
At Namba Carnival Mall, the 'Namba Illumination Canvas' is held as a collaborative project with 'Osaka Mode Gakuen.' This project, now in its third year, transforms Namba Carnival Mall into a canvas for illuminative art.
Under the theme 'Bright and Energetic Future from Osaka!,' unique graphic art illuminated along the pathways and colorful neon objects vividly enhance the atmosphere, adding a lively touch to the space.
At Takashimaya Osaka, they showcase nighttime illuminations utilizing the rooftop garden. Gates and large stars, inspired by the trajectory of stars, create a vibrant atmosphere.
A highlight is the central zone adorned with numerous ornament illuminations. Visitors can enjoy an enchanting display as if stars are falling from above. The dynamic shower of light and stars pouring from the night sky presents various expressions depending on the time.
To coincide with the early opening of Namba Plaza (temporary name), Nankai Building is also illuminated in special colors. Serving as the gateway to 'Namba Hikari Tabi,' it guides people towards the sparkling illuminations.
At Parks Street, trees sparkling in champagne gold beautifully illuminate the path from Midosuji Illumination to Namba Parks. How about taking a stroll and enjoying the glamorous lights that envelop the surroundings?
At Ebisubashi-suji Shopping Street, you can enjoy 'Lucky Charm Illuminations' featuring motifs of auspicious symbols. Inspired by the approach to the Toka Ebisu Festival, the illuminations creatively depict seven lucky charms, including 'Ebitan (Ebisu),' 'Uchi-Demon Hammer,' 'Passing Exam Votive Tablet,' 'Married Couple Tai (sea bream),' 'Treasure Ship,' and 'Beckoning Cat,' using vibrant lights. This glamorous and unique illumination display is a must-see.
