Autumn Roses and Cosmoses

Garden of Floral Culture in Kawachinagano city located in southern Osaka is one of the best botanical gardens along Nankai Railways to enjoy flowers and plants from the season. We especially recommend you cosmoses and autumn roses to enjoy in during autumn. Gorgeous purple, pink and red gardens will make you feel the new season.

How to go
Use Nankai Bus from Kawachinagano station (Nankai Railways, Koya Line / Kintetsu, Nagano Line). Ride the bus from bus stop No.7 in front of Kawachinagano station. Use one of the following buses. (One way trip : 220 yen for adult, 110 yen for child)
1. Ride on No.419 or No.419V bus bound for Takihata Dam, get off at “Okukawachi Kuromaro no Sato”, and walk for 10 mins.
2. Ride on No.406 bus bound for Takamuko, get off at “Uetakamuko”, and walk for 15 mins.

Iwawakisan Mountain

Susuki

An autumn plant that represents the Japanese autumn season – Susuki. Japanese pampas grass, known as “Susuki” in Japan, is a plant that Japanese uses to celebrate “Chuushuu no Meigetsu(中秋の名月)”. “Chuushuu no Meigetsu” is a day to watch the beautiful autumn moon and celebrate harvest.
So how about going out and see this traditional plant? You can enjoy this great scenery on the top of Iwawakisan, where is one of the best fields in Japan to enjoy Susuki. The best season to watch Susuki is from October to November, which is also the best season to go out hiking.

How to go
Use Nankai Bus from Kawachi Nagano station (Nankai Railways, Koya Line / Kintetsu, Nagano Line). Ride the bus from bus stop No.6 in front of Kawachi Nagano station. Use one of the following buses. (One way trip : 220 yen for adult, 110 yen for child)
1. No.412 bus bound to Kouno.
2. No.436 bus bound to Kouno.
Get off at “Kouno”, and enjoy a walk through Iwawakisan.

Flowers from the bottom of Koya

Cosmoses of Amami

Another great spot to enjoy cosmoses - Nantenen. Nantenen was an Onsen Ryokan (a Japanese style hotel with hot spring) for people going up the road to Koyasan. Today, many guests who wish to go up to Koyasan love stopping by at this spot.
The Japanese garden of Nantenen is huge – 10,000㎡ it is. Enjoy the nature from the mountains, and bathe inside Onsen which Japanese love.
