Here’s a look at what the tour is like. The schedule is as follows:
Factory Tour ⇒ Metalworking Experience
▪Factory Tour
First, let’s step inside the factory to see the skills of master craftsmen and the latest equipment up close. This company is equipped with machines capable of handling everything from palm-sized parts to components as large as 3 meters, and can manage machining, measuring, and programming all in one place.
You’ll also have the chance to hear directly from professionals who spend their days working with machines and supporting Japan’s manufacturing. They’ll share stories you rarely get to hear — behind-the-scenes insights, personal passions, and clever techniques — drawing you deeper and deeper into the fascinating world of craftsmanship.
The factory keeps around 300 drills on hand, ranging in size from 1 to 60 millimeters in diameter. By carefully selecting the right tool for each material and purpose, they are able to achieve an astonishing level of precision in every finished product.
Between tours, you’ll even get the chance to try your hand at simple drilling, with the support of the company president! Operate a large machine, aim precisely at your target, and experience both the challenge of hitting it perfectly and the thrill of accomplishment when you succeed.
▪Metalworking Experience
n the metalworking experience, you’ll create a traditional Japanese toy — the spinning top (koma) — with precision down to 1/100 of a millimeter. The way the top spins changes depending on where and how deep you drill the holes, allowing you to craft a one-of-a-kind original top. A finely crafted top can even keep spinning for more than 10 minutes!?
And best of all, the top you make yourself can be taken home as a souvenir. This hands-on activity can be enjoyed by both children and adults, offering a rare chance to experience the proven skills and precision of Made in Japan.
In the experience area, you’ll find not only spinning tops but also many other toys made with metalworking techniques.
Be sure to enjoy them along with the hands-on metalworking experience!
A special opportunity to experience the true spirit of Japanese monozukuri — craftsmanship at its finest.
Here, you can touch the raw materials, sense their texture and even their scent, while observing up close the care and dedication that artisans put into their work. It’s a rare chance to witness the high level of Japanese technology firsthand, so don’t miss this unique experience.Visitors from overseas are also welcome.
