Ichinohashi Tenpu
Here you can experience making incense that relaxes your mind and leads you to your true self. Why don't you make your own unique shichimi from seven different spices in the proportions you prefer?
The incense used in most temples on Mt. Koya, including Kongobuji Temple, has been loved for a long time to remove the filth of Buddha statues and practitioners. This time, we will try to make a powder fragrance "Zuko" that you can apply to your hands and body.
In addition, you can make shichimi from seven other spices, including grape sansho from Wakayama, which boasts the largest local production in Japan, fragrant black and white sesame seeds, roasted chili peppers, yuzu chenpi, aosa, and ginger, in the proportions you prefer. Just follow these simple steps and you'll have your own shichimi, far superior to the store-bought stuff!
Reservation method:
Please let us know the day you wish to experience at least 2 weeks in advance. It is easy to make a reservation on weekdays, but there are days when the seats are full in spring and autumn, so please make a reservation as soon as possible.

Koyasan's specialty is sesame tofu
Koyasan, a World Heritage Site, is a Buddhist sanctuary and is famous for its Shojin ryori(vegetarian cuisine) that follows Buddhist teachings that prohibit killing.
Koyasan's sesame tofu is indispensable for Shojin ryori and can be said to be a specialty of Koyasan.
Since its establishment in the early Meiji era, Hamadaya has specialized only in sesame tofu, which is characterized by its carefully crafted, rich flavor.
The shop we are introducing today makes sesame tofu from carefully selected ingredients such as white sesame, Yoshino Motokuzu, and clear water from Koya Ryozen.
White sesame is carefully peeled and uses only the core, so it looks pure white, has no bitterness on the skin, and has a very high absorption rate of nutrients.
It is sold in limited quantities to keep it fresh, so early purchase is recommended.
From Gokurakubashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line, transfer to the cable car and exit at Koyasan Station.
At the bus stop in front of Koyasan Station, transfer to a Nankai Rinkan Bus.
